Hi all,
I have some questions about oracle 10G data guard :
1) what is the difference between standby database and data guard database ?
2) does data guard options is include in all version of oracle database 10 G or we have to buy a separate license for that ?
3) data guard has a graphical interface or only command line option ?
Many thanks for you response.
Regards.

Quote:2) Standby is included, the usage of Data Guard Broker is not free. If I understood licensing, I would be a salesman (and rich) but I do not think this is correct. I thought it was like this:
Data Guard (including te Data Guard Broker) is bundled with Enterprise Edition. If you have only Standard Edition licenses, you cannot use Data Guard, though you can set up the old standby database mechanism where it is all done with scripts.
